Today is Sunday so I’m going to be very brief. Not because it’s Sunday really but because I was up all night and into the morning signing up for giveaway freebies. A girl has to stock the store right?

Anyway, it’s Father’s Day. My Dad passed away several years ago and all other family members live out of state; I started feeling alone and sorry for myself.

Fortunately, that didn’t last too long. I remembered what I read in books like Think & Grow Rich and the principles behind Alex’s program- you have to give before you receive. So I sent text messages to all of the dads in my phone’s contact list wishing them a Happy Father’s Day.

Throughout the day, I’ve been getting return messages thanking me and asking me how I’m doing. It then dawned on me that I should “tweet” my Twitter  followers as well. No links, just a heartfelt Happy Fathers Day.

I’m not sure what kind of response I will get from my followers. What I do know is that I’m not feeling sorry for myself anymore. The text messages are still rolling in and I have a better idea of what Alex mean when he says “our lists are people”.

Which reminds me, I’m going to end this now and give my Uncle Leroy a shout (he doesn’t have text messaging).

    Hi Jules

Nice post there. I too celebrated Fathers day, but was lucky to have my kids remember that it was my day. Whilst I only had a few hours with them it was soooooo special!

If it’s any consolation, you will get back 10 fold the goodness that you put out into the universe!

You should always make time for people who are out of your immediate thoughts!

    Good luck

    Hey Joe:

They say “It’s not the money you spend on your kids that they remember,…it’s the time.”
I can’t recall how much money my dad spent on me but I can remember falling asleep on his shoulder at midnight mass.

I’m glad you had time to spend with your kids.
I can tell the time you spent was fabulous.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

To your success on the Internet!

    Hi Julie Jules!

Commiserations with the theme change – I have been having trouble as well trying to change mine. Also, I still haven’t got my Opt-in box on my blog!
What a nice memory, falling asleep on your Dad’s shoulder. They are the things that stay with you for life. And, you did a great thing sending wishes to all those friends and relatives to greet them for Father’s Day. And yes, I totally agree with Wayne’s comment – you will reap many times over the goodness you do to others.

    Best wishes,

    Jules,

You’ve just stumbled across what’s goign to make you stand out from the crowd.

Too many people in our marketplace want to take.

Just by giving, you’ve already differentiated yourself. Not only that but people naturally feel that they want to give back.

Sorry to hear about your father, but what you’re doing now would make him and anyone proud.

    Keep going.

    Reach new heights,

    Nathan
