TweetI am beginning to believe more and more that being a successful internet marketer requires more than the right website tools or the right niche market. Of course the last two things that I mentioned are important but the MOST IMPORTANT of all is mindset.
Pity parties are usually a party of one. When a little voice starts whining about how the blog theme looks or about how I’m not posting enough, or this or that, it’s always nice to stop by another marketer’s blog.
The Universe, knew how I was feeling today. So, when I logged on to my website, Gary “Gazzman” Simpson’s link was at the top of Alex Jeffreys students. It seems the Universe always knows what you need and I’d like to share it. Thank you the Universe!
Without further ado.
Gary Gazzman Simpson’s Blog Post:
Hi folks,
I just thought I would say a couple of things in the hope that what I offer here can be assimilated into your thinking. And if you get my IDEA then I’m hoping that it will free up some of your “mind-space” for creativity rather than blanketing it with…
Are You Persistent Enough? – http://motivationselfesteem.com/talk
Jules:
You’re so right about needing the right, positive mindset. The world we live in is so negative these days, even people close to to me seem so negative, especially when I tell them that I am building an online business. When i here it enough it does begin to sink in and I do begin to have doubts.
There was something I heard one day, “You are always becoming an average of the 5 closest people to you”. This seems to be so true and something that most people do not think about.
Having a “can do” mindset can really make a difference.
Thanks for the link to Gary’s post.

Hi Jules,
That’s was a awesome “Gazzman” post you shared there!
Is kind of like how I get into MWA program in the 1st place, I visited the blog of the right person at the right time during the moment where I was about to dwell in my anger.

Hey Rick:
You’ll see “the Universe” referenced in my posts and let me tell you – there it goes again.
As I’m replying to this comment, the song “Can Do” from Guys and Dolls is being sung on a television.

Hey Jason,
Thanks for sharing your story and thank you for sharing the quote.
I’ve spent way too much time reading technical stuff.
I’ll be looking for the book online.
I love this!

Jules,
Have you ever seen the movie called the secret? It talks about how powerful mind can be and how important it is to have a good mindset in doing things. Hang in there!

Hi Jules,
It was an absolute delight to visit your blog and thanks for the link to Gazzman’s great post.
So many times it can be SO EASY to think just how can I keep up and do and match all our other students in MWA3.0
Being located in a remote Thai village the very fact that my wordpress skills are limited; my internet marketing knowledge is improving with Alex’s coaching but I am still a “learner” and nearly every day I lose data and material because our power supply quits or my internet connections just cease – this means that quite honestly there are many times when I just have to STOP and go back to my objectives and reassure myself that the work and struggle are worth the efort.
So getting the right mind set is very real for me. I am always an open, positive and optimistic guy but there are times when either you get your mindset right or you start looking for excuses…and that’s the quick road to failure.
Thanks for the post..it meant a lot to me Jules

Hi Justin,
No, I haven’t seen the movie but I did purchase the book about a year ago. My aim is to read a chapter a day and read the summary before retiring. Another bedside book is Think and Grow Rich. These two books have really helped.
Sorry it took a few days to get back to you. I had my annual eye exam the other day where they dilated my pupils. It was as if I could see into the future but couldn’t read a thing on my computer screen. Go figure.
To success!

Your comments mean a lot to me too, Peter.
We really can’t do this ‘internet marketing thing’ alone.
New York hasn’t experienced any blackouts since 2003 but it’s noisy as hell. Sometimes I just have to shut it down until after midnight, when all the traffic dies down and people have finally gone to sleep. Wait, that’s right this city never sleeps.
However, it does calm down a bit after midnight.
Keep your head up, stay positive.

Hi Jules
I am sorry I took so long to visit,my loss,
Yes you are so right mindset is what it is all about… in all things online and offline.
We will and do learn the things we need to learn when we have the right mindset. I beleive our minds are like a sponge when we want to learn and like a block of granite when we don’t.
I really like your mindset…

Hi Vince!
Sorry for taking so long to reply. (I’m working on that) I didn’t realize what a “lonely” business Internet Marketing could be. But if we stay in touch with each other- either by blog hopping or through Skype, it’s not so lonely after all. Set your mind on success and that is where it will take you.
I’m glad your stopped by for a visit – no matter how long it took you. : )

Hi Jules
Nice post and you’re absolutely correct, having a positive mindset has to be up there at the top of the list of “must have’s”.
I skipped on over to the Gazzman’s blog, Gary is a wise Old Owl and he gives some really great advice and visiting his site regulary is definately to be recommended.
I’ve also downloaded a few of his “freebies” – he has some really good, useful information.

Hang in there Ken.

Julie,
I read the post and it was very good. Comparing our greatest weakness with someone else’s greatest strength can definitely lead to depression and frustration. We just need to keep going and persist until we can turn our strengths (and weaknesses) into success.
