Internet marketing is a lot of work when you are just starting out and/or don’t have the money for outsourcing yet. Hell, I need to learn how to outsource.
At this stage, I’m trying to think of this as the training part of my internet marketing career- not unlike being in college. Study, do the exercises, apply the knowledge. You keep plugging away, no sign-ups, trickles of traffic or maybe a few coins from AdSense. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. And since this is about making money, sometimes I get a little discouraged.
I just got off call and was thinking about what another marketer had said about not seeing any results. It worried them; then it started to worry me.
And then I recall the words of my favorite philospher from childhood, Alfred E Neumann-”What, me worry?”
So rather than worry, I started surfing the web; then, the law of attraction kicked in and brought me to a site that did website evaluations.
First, I looked at a site that I built back in June 2009, when I considered trying my hand at monetizing my blog. I wanted to be a professional blogger. I wanted to get paid to blog. I had no clue. So, I started to gather knowledge-a writing class and books on blogging. I remember this guy in class came out and said, “I’m not here to make friends. I just want to learn how to blog.” Still a little puzzled by that one but I just thought I’d bring it up.
This blog was created a year ago and according to this evaluation taken just 2 days ago is worth zero.
The site below is about 6 months old. I bought the domain ‘xyinzer.com to write about my experiences in New York and Pittsburgh but somehow wound up promoting youth baseball. I haven’t done anything to this site for months and it still has value. The figure is $96.35
I’ve taken this site down and I am going to blog about New York and Pittsburgh as originally planned.
Next, is a valuation of a site I created 2 weeks ago. $632.91!
Ah, progress. The bits and pieces of what I’ve learned is paying off-sort of.
You can’t get this kind of feedback in college. “Julie, you did very well this semester. That paper you did on Newton’s Third Law was moving*. Here’s $100.”
The name of the site is Cubestat.
It’s pretty simple: type in your URL, hit CHECK and wait for your results.
Some call web evaluation sites a waste of time and have entertainment value only. I ran this site through another site and there is was worth a little over $1,000. Really doesn’t matter.
I use the site as an ego booster, physical evidence to remind me I am creating something of worth. I hope you find it as helpful as I do.
Virtual Real Estate, a 21st century oxymoron if there ever was one.

Julie:
Thanks for the website. I did go and check out the value of my website and I was pleasantly surprised.
It can be frustrating at times but we have to stick with it and use the leverage of the MWA community to help each other.
Thanks again.

Hi Rick:
I found another site you could look at: websiteoutlook.com.
I came across a great article that compares several of these website tools at
http://www.dailyblogtips.com/w.....ion-tools/
Also learned that is a good idea to submit your blog to these sites as it helps with your blogs indexing.
Happy Trails.
