I started my journey into internet marketing in November 2009. As a “techie”, I thought about the possibilities of marketing on mobile devices.   Since I didn’t know anything about internet marketing, I followed the path of most marketers- blogging, affiliate marketing, article marketing, etc. But still marketing on cell phones was in the back of my mind.

July 4, 2010: I’m at a cook out, all of my friends and their children are there eating barbecue and listening to the greatest rock and roll hits of the last 4 decades. Nothing unusual that day except for the searing heat and my friends, people in their 40s and 50s, mashing on the keys of their iPhones and Blackberries between bites.

Quelle suprise! I thought it would be the kids,  but it was the adults too – transfixed by these mobiles devices! “ Now how can I market to people using cell phones?” I asked .

And the Universe answered,

On August 3rd, 2010,  Adam Horwitz (the aforementioned 18 year old) launched a program that shows you how to market via mobile phone. If you haven’t heard about Mobile Monopoly already, trust me, you will. The internet community is abuzz (never thought I’d use that word in a sentence but there it is) and after 8 months marketing online, my Clickbank account shows an amount other than $0.00.

I didn’t use any keywords, no SEO website or landing page – just a simple email to a list of  SIXTEEN people. After seeing the response, I sent a broadcast through Traffic Supremacy and am waiting for those results.

There are 5 Billion people using mobile devices.  The Pay Per Click rates for mobile marketing start at  one cent ($0.01) per click! It’s the Gold Rush! It’s AdWords in ’98! It’s great!

The Mobile Monopoly course has 11 modules showing:

  • how to get started in mobile marketing
  • the methods and ad platforms used to market on mobile devises
  • using CPA networks, Per Per Call, how to market physical products and MORE.

You also get

  • Adam’s Secret Tool
  • 4 Bonuses modules
  • and videos showing Adam create 7  successful campaigns

All of the modules are in video form with printable slides for offline reading, updates, an affiliate program and support.

The price: $77.

Thanks for the tip left on my blog, i will use it in my next post. As a fellow techie this is a big learning curve for me too. Let me know how the Mobile marketing is going. We looked into something like that in the way of Social Marketing.

    Thanks

    Hey Scott,
Glad you could use the tip. Did you watch the video? Tell me what you think. I’m about half way through the first set of modules – 11 in all and I got accepted to a CPA network. Last night, I signed up for all of Adam’s recommended mobile ad networks. There are internet marketers making a ton of money on this already but like you say, it’s a learning curve. I’ll be out there in a minute – as soon as figure out what I’m doing. First things first. I’m sure there will be plenty of market left when I start my campaigns. And in the meantime stay in touch and I will start posting my progress.

    Hi Julie

Yes I have to agree adults love their mobiles too especially iPhones and Blackberries. Mobile marketing is the thing of the future there is not a doubt about it.

A little about me – My name is Sue McDonald and I am a student of Mark Terrell and I am actually going through the course a second time – by invitation. I love it and know if I do all he says, I will be successful. I am Australian but the US is my second home as I have family there and visit quite often. This is why I started Internet Marketing so I can travel whenever I want and have the money to do what I want.

Well I hope you are doing well and you become very successful. I would love you to come visit my blog and leave a comment.

    Kind regards

  5. Hey Julie

I have just come for a visit to your site. How are you going?

Yes it’s Mark and I am following my students as they post on other peoples blogs. They don’t know that I am always checking to see they are getting results. I am passionate about helping them achieve and then they are able to make some money online exactly the same as I am doing. It is not really difficult as long as they are willing to put in the effort.

Always pleasing if I can see some of my students have posted comments. Keep up the good work.

    Regards

That’s Jules for: Wow, I think it’s great that you follow up with your students!
I don’t think I could have gotten as far as I have without blog hopping or to quote Alex Jeffreys, “oil rig hopping”. I had a blog for a year and the only visitor it got was a Google bot; but after following the advice of my mentor, my blog is getting hits from all over the world.
It’s good to hear from you Mark. Stay on top of those students, buddy. :)

Hey Julie, cool review I am still on the fence about this product, not sure it’s exactly what I am after.

Have heard some good reviews about it though.

Noticed the comment before mine that you helped Lance set up his blog, well done for helping people.

    Hi Sally,

    Thanks for stopping by.

I bought into the program because I’m always interested in what’s new in technology but more importantly, how people use it.

The Mobile Monopoly course shows how to use mobile phone to market – the key word being market. Mobile phones are just another platform – another way to get our offers/products out there. I’m still working on building my list. I thought this would be a cool way to build it.

Besides, people are moving from PCs to their mobile devices to get their information. Now why wouldn’t saavy marketers such as ourselves :) not get in on it and ride this next wave?

Next move will be product creation – *sigh* – I’m definitely going to take you up on your offer of assistance there. And don’t forget that if YOU need any technical assistance don’t hesitate to contact me. With 13 years experience in tech support and a lifelong curiosity for how things work, I think I can lend a hand. :)

Take care, talk to you soon.

    Hi Jules,
My name is James Morten and I to am a student of Alex Jeffery’s. I too am following Adam and have purchased MM. I outsourced the project to my first employee and he says the modules are awesome. Replacemyself.com is where I hired him and the great thing is, he’s not charging me to go through the training modules, he feels the training is payment enough (how lucky am I), anyway I will have my first 2 campaigns up and running next wk and I will be posting on my progress at jamesmorten.com Good luck & keep up the good work.

    Hey James,

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Since you’re outsourcing, tell your guy to watch the click through rates. I noticed some of the rates went down after Mobile Monopoly’s launch. Not a problem, markets fluctuate and there’s a big market out there. Good luck with your campaigns and I’m looking forward to reading about your progress.

  9. Hi Julie,

I’m aware of the buzz surrounding Mobile Marketing but I just don’t, well, like it. Sounds so intrusive. Of course, I only use my cell for phone calls, and rarely at that. Hardly one to judge.

I would love to hear more about your experience with it since you started.

If you don’t mind, drop me a line when you have a moment.

    Hey Lesley,

Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.

Yeah, I understand how you feel but when you get right down to it – all advertising is intrusive.

Billboards, full page ads, banner ads – all to distract us for a moment, to forget about what it was that we are doing at the moment , in order to get us to re-consider our choices in toothpaste. The mobile phone is just another medium.

Again, glad you stopped by. Stay in touch and good luck with your IM studies.

    Hey Julie,

There seems to be a bit of a split with regards to the effectiveness of mobile marketing, however…

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this product, it looks great and I’ve also heard good things about his previous product “Dude, I Hate My Job”.

I don’t have time to add mobile marketing to the arsenal yet but if I had the time this would be a no brainer.

    For anyone considering it…

There is a monthly subscription service to do with creating the optimised mobile friendly squeeze pages (which at $77 /mo is a bit pricey if someone’s not going to throw themselves into mobile marketing) but there’s also a stripped down free version which will convert Aweber forms into squeeze pages, which is a really cool feature.

Hey Rob, Thanks for stopping & commenting.

Yeah, there’s always a split whenever there’s a paradigm change.

I believe that mobile marketing can be very effective if done properly. The major objections I hear from people who do not yet “get” mobile marketing are in regard to spam but I canvassed the kids in my neighborhood who use cell phones relentlessly and they only get advertising when they opt in to something like an app.

I forgot to mention BeastMobi – is that the app you were talking about? Sixty-seven dollar monthly subscription for mobile optimized forms, thank you pages, etc?

Mobile Monopoly is a great intro to mobile marketing, however, I am checking out another program that is a little more in depth than Adam Horwitz’s program. I do have to satisfy my inner tech – it’s a moral imperative!

Will keep you posted on my adventures in mobile marketing.
